Macfarlane, David

David Macfarlane, Canadian writer and journalist, was born in Hamilton, Ontario. His novel Summer Gone won the Chapters/Books in Canada First Novel Award, and was shortlisted for the Giller Prize. Macfarlane's family memoir, The Danger Tree, received the Canadian Authors Association Award for non-fiction. He has won numerous National Magazine awards and a National Newspaper Award.

Macfarlane lives in Toronto with his wife, designer and author Janice Lindsay. They have two children, Caroline and Blake.
