Janet Russell is an audio producer, seabird biologist and sometime narrator and writer. In 1998 together with Rachel Bryant and Monica Kidd she founded the Alder Institute, a non-profit she continues to work with. Janet founded Rattling Books in 2003. Janet's first children's book, Bella's Tree, was published by Groundwood Press in 2009.

Janet Russell reads a story in the collection In the Chambers of the Sea by Susan Rendell. She is the voice of Kate for Donovan's Station by Robin McGrath. She also reads various stories found in the EarLit Shorts series of short fiction audio anthologies. Janet records and mixes most of Rattling Books productions.
